Why Awesome Golf Simulator Requires Google Play
1 min read
Awesome Golf Simulator uses Google Play services for licence validation, meaning the Google Play Store app must be installed and reachable on your Android or ChromeOS device at launch.
Google Play certification
Google Play certification (also called "Play Protect certification") is a standard that device manufacturers must meet to ship the Google Play Store and Google services. Certified devices have passed compatibility testing by Google.
Devices that are not certified - such as those running custom ROMs, unofficial firmware, or certain regional variants - may not have Google Play Store installed, or may have an incomplete implementation that prevents apps from communicating with it.
Enterprise and MDM environments
Organisations managing devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) software or device-administrator policies can restrict or disable the Google Play Store. In these environments the restriction is enforced at the policy level, so re-enabling the app through device settings alone is not possible. Contact your device administrator if you believe this applies to your device.
