Parental Consent
- What data does Awesome Golf store about my child?
Awesome Golf includes parental controls to comply with regulations protecting children in digital environments. Parental controls are managed via Awesome Golf Insights under Settings → Parental Settings. For background on why these controls are required, see Understanding Parental Consent.

Data stored for a child's account
Awesome Golf stores the following data to operate a child's account and track their progress:

Leaderboard visibility
The only data visible to other users on Awesome Golf leaderboards is a child's display name, user-defined country, and score. If a child sets their leaderboard category to Opt Out, their existing scores become anonymous and no new leaderboard entries are added.
Data retention after revocation
When parental consent is revoked, the child's account data is retained for up to 30 days. Access can be restored within this window from the Parental Settings page in Awesome Golf Insights. After 30 days, the account and all associated data are permanently deleted from Awesome Golf's servers. See How to Revoke Parental Consent for instructions.
Guest access after revocation
A child whose consent has been revoked can still use Awesome Golf as a one-off guest session. No statistics or leaderboard entries are recorded during guest play.
Declared Age Range API
In regions where the operating system's Declared Age Range API is supported, Awesome Golf uses it as an additional validator alongside the user's declared date of birth.
If a device is identified as belonging to a child, all users signing in on that device are treated as children for that session. An adult can still play on a child's device, but their data will not contribute to their account history or the Awesome Golf leaderboards - they are treated as a personalised, local-only guest for that session.
